This Blog is Going Raw

I have been getting so inspired by the reading I have been doing on and off line about the Raw Foods diet for years now, that I have decided to give it a whirl.

I have been eating around 85-90% raw for about two weeks now, and have been feeling awesome. And I get to eat chocolate! I have decided to make this blog my public journal of my nutritional explorations, including pics and posts of all the yummy new Raw recipes I have been enjoying. I was specifically inspired to do this by a fellow Raw blogger: www.heartshapedsky.vox.com

I also just registered for the ING Bay to Breakers 12K, so I will be recording my workouts here too.

Todays’s menu (drumroll, please):

B- 1 banana, 1/3 braeburn apple, 2 dates, couple of chunks cantalope

Bike 4.2 miles to work

Snack: Rest of the apple, 1/2 of a cantalope, 1 cup herbal mint tea, 1 peanut m&m (not a raw food, woops!)

Taught half hour lunchtime yoga class at work

Lunch: 2 raw Falafel Balls leftover from Raw foods potluck this weekend, wrapped in romaine lettuce, topped with tomatoes and 2T tahini sauce

Sat on my behind most of the day in front of the computer at work

Snack: 1/8-85% Dark, Green and Blacks Organic Dark Chocolate–WOW! This is the BEST chocolate I have ever had!

2nd part of snack: Another apple (I am a freakin’ apple addict!)

Bike home and to the bank for a total of 5.2 miles, 10 minutes jumping on the mini trampoline

Dinner: couple of almonds while making almond mylk, cream of tomato pepper soup made in the vitamix: raw tahini, garlic, red peppers, tomatoes, cumin, Real salt, topped with chopped avocado and cilanto: awesome!

Dessert: I said I could not fit anything more in the belly but somehow found room for a Chai Raweo bought at Whole Foods made at a Berkeley bakery with a cup of my homemade almond mylk.

Blissfully tired and ready for bed!
